Thus far only one tartan, Black Watch...but, wait, WAIT! I can explain. Black Watch is considered a Campbell tartan and my Clan Nicolson were in the same general area and considered a sept of Campbell. I know that clan affiliation and septs and all can be very circumstantial. But my family connection to Scotland is very circumstantial as it is.
So I wear the Black Watch with pride of my Scottish heritage while I save the funds for a Nicolson tank. As they say, Scots have deep pockets but short arms!

So, at the present time, I've got two MacMillan Hunting kilts, two MacMillan Ancient kilts, and trews in MacMillan Hunting. My genealogy reads like the aftermath of some ancient Scottish battle-- it is littered with dead McBains, Douglasses, Mackays, McReas, Campbells, MacDonalds, and a whole lot more. I respect each and every one of these ladies who married in to my family, but I am a MacMillan. That's my name, that's my clan, and that's my tartan.
Well, I am NOT a MacMillan but I still wear the tartan with pride as my kilt was given to me by a certain generous MacMillan!

First, let me welcome you from Scotland.
I have a lot of friends whose parents or Grandparents were Italian and came to settle here in Glasgow.
You guys have the best chippies!
So far I have a Macdonald modern in 18 oz wool. (Tank.)
Another Macdonald modern in about 13 oz Acrylic.
A Pride of Scotland in 13 oz Acrylic.
An Argyle and Sutherland highlanders in 22 oz wool. (Super tank military box pleat.)
A grey and tan tweed kilt in 13 oz wool.
An indie blue denim unionkilt.
I'm going to be ordering a Harris tweed kilt in the Macdonald of the isles red tartan from Matt Newsome shortly.
After that? I am going to getting a special run of a tartan I designed myself!

I currently own only one tartan, and that is Lumsden Huntincg (Green) Ancient. I wear it in honour of my late Step-Grandfather and his family, whom I love dearly.
My wish list:
Lumsden (Red) ancient
Royal Air Force - Several family members fought in WWII with the RAF
Stewart of Fingask - chosen tartan of the 48th Canadian Highlanders Pipe band, several family members involved
Maple Leaf - I am a proud Canuck, eh?
Ontario - my home province
Aberdeen - Aberdeenshire is the home of the Lumsdens (well, the Northern branch, anyway)
Carolina - my current home, and birthplace of my daughter
HBC - falling in love with this one, and it's connection to my homeland
County Antrim - home of my great grandmother
and...whatever tartan the Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen wear....sing along with me!
Our country reeks of trees,
Our yaks are really large,
And they smell like rotting beefcarcasses!
And we have to clean up after them,
And our saddle sores are the best,
We proudly wear women's clothing
and searing sand blows up our skirts!
And the buzzards, they soar oooo-verhead
And poisonous snakes will devooooour us whole
And our bones will bleach in the sun!
And we will probably go to h(fart)ll
And that is our great reward
For being the uh-Rooooyal...
Canadian
Kilted
Yaksmen!

Okay, last night I heard from a cousin I didn't know I had, who has spent 40 yrs researching our McReynolds/Keppoch line. Because of information he's provided regarding our line out of Keppoch & its connection to the Dolnald clan of that area I'm revamping my list and adding the tartan of that name to it.
Only I'm undecided as to which one I'll choose yet. I'm leaning towards one of the "special weave" tartans (see new thread I'll post on the subject).

On order:
MODERN MACKAY - Matt Newsome made 4 yd box pleat.
I'm a member of Clan Mackay Society, plus I like the history of this tartan. It was first one registered by Chief of Mackay in 1819. Also the colors match descriptions of tartan worn by the Mackay Regt in the 30 Years War.
Wish List:
MACDONELL OF KEPPOCH - undecided to which tartan just yet.
WEATHERED MACKAY - two reasons: 1) a rarely worn by members of Clan Mackay Society, & 2) it would make a great "hill climber" color.
PERTHSHIRE DISTRICT (MUTED) - the "homeland" of my Scobee's.
GREEN IRISH (SOLID) - for my Irish ancestors, & is the tartan chosen last year by the Clan O'Mórda society on St. Patrick's Day.
RED ULSTER - for my Ulster Scot kin.
MODERN MACKAY - Yes, a second one! One for dress & one for knocking about
Considering:
ANCIENT MACKAY - just because I like the colors!
MACKAY OF STRATHNAVER - an interesting looking tartan that is fast becoming a favorite of Clan Mackay members.
There are others I'm considering, but will end my list here (for now)....
