I've had a beard since my late teens-my buddies couldm't grow one.
Am now 64. (shaved it off once, but my lips had vanished!)

Here I am with a beard, a kilt, and the most effeminate drink Las Vegas has to offer.

The beard grows in red, and it's the only red hair I have. It's just like any other choice. The beard works for some kiltsman, and not for others. I personally like not shaving.

Gentleman, gentlemen, gentlemen - lest we forget what we are talking about, might I remind you just exactly what a real beard looks like?

    This is a beard!

And a fine beard it is, Jay! I meant to tell you when you used your photo a month or so ago for your avatar that I thought it was a great picture. You were wearing a balmoral, I think? The beard looks great with your kilt and accessories.

My husband won't grow a beard... partially because it doesn't really grow in very well at the moment (he has a pituitary tumor that causes some of his hormone levels to be wonky)... and he's got a very big build so he thinks he looks bad with a beard. I do like him with stubble, though. Of course, I also like him with longish hair, too.

It's all what you feel comfortable with and like, of course everyone looks different (some better with a beard, others better without).

I have noticed a lot of long hair and/or beards with kilts when I see photos, though. Interesting, but maybe it's just because I happen to notice that.

Thanks Cyn - I am just joking of course - and I know that everyone can't grow a beard. One of my close friends has like four hairs on his chin, shaves about every month or so, and would love to have a beard - but just can't.

Oh, oops! I didn't mean to make it sound like that... I was just adding a little more to the thread than just saying "great beard!" since my hubby rarely logs on, I figure I'll chat about him (I sure don't want to grow a beard ).

I do wish my hubby would try to grow one, but perhaps beards just aren't for him. His mustache has really thickened up recently (or the stubble, anyway). He has these little patches around his chin that won't fill in, yet.

Well I didn't think so - - - but the employment oportunities would be slim anyway -what with fewer and fewer freak shows around these days..... bearded lady indeed!

I have another friend that had a very light beard until he underwent kimo-therapy and when his hair came back he had a new luxurious dark beard - but he would just as soon not have the new beard. He says the kimo was just the pitts!

Yeah, the peach fuzz on my face is bad enough!

I've heard about that, hair growing in differently (like darker colors and even different textures) after treatments like that. I'm sorry he had to go through that, too

James, your beard has frightened my insubstantial facial hair away. I am now clean shaven thanks to your unequivocally manly beard.
