You know I actually think it looks good without a tie. A tie might actually make you look kind of... stuffy. Unless you're going dressy, I suppose.

Looks nice Ron. I've been looking for a reasonably priced tailor in my area to do a conversion for me so I can wear a correct kilt jacket. Congrats on the addition.

I agree completely. I was mostly giving him a bit of a ribbing. He mentioned in another thread about not enjoying ties.

Yep, I ordered one from the folks at the museum a few months back.

It really depends on the occasion; for those pictures, then the jacket, sans tie, is fine -- but for other occasions, a tie is very appropriate and would not be considered "stuffy". Remember that the tweed day jacket is techically "country wear" for shooting, stalking, etc. and would not be worn to events that might have an air of "stuffiness" about it. The tie itself is not "stuffy", but only the person wearing it.
I love ties. A well-tied and good-looking tie is the finishing touch on an outfit, INMHO.
A bolo tie? Could be interesting -- have to see it first before I make up my mind about it.
Cheers,
Todd

Outstanding Jacket, Ron! It looks great
I have to agree with Dreadbelly...I think a bolo tie would look great especially if it's SW in it's origins.
With the color of the jacket and your beard a silver bolo (like your T-bird or bear pin) maybe with or without turquoise with black thread would look great.

Now with Retro Red's Arizona state tartan -- I can see this, and I like it!

I would agree with you there, I wear a tie any opportunity I get. I actually taught myself how to tie one, turns out I tie like a soldier. But like most accessories, sometimes they just don't... they don't jive, as my dad would say.
