Interesting topic. Just this past weekend I went through the family tree and came up with the following list. We primarily identify with Gordon and Campbell through a maternal 2nd great-grandmother. There may be more, but this is what I could find. The parentheses mean that those branches are included, but are not necessarily the only branch of that family.

First, all my current kilts are in Robertson tartans - for my mother's maiden name and where my name comes from.
Ancient Hunting
Modern Hunting
Roberston Red
Maybe in the future:
Tennessee tartan, for my home
if there is one for Parkers - my last name, and as Parkers were essentially park rangers and gameskeepers for hunting grounds, and I love to hunt and be outside, it's rather fitting that I fulfill my surname in some way, and maybe should have a kilt for it as well.

I'm one of those who answered in the other thread, but for the sake of having everything in one spot, here're the tartans I can think of off the top of my head, with which I have some connexion.
MacDougall -- Maternal ancestry
Irish National -- Paternal ancestry
County Cork -- my father's mother was from there
Irish Heritage -- same reasons as above
German Heritage -- Mother's father from Germany
German-American -- same
U. S. Navy -- Veteran (HM2), Step-father's father was Navy.
U. S. Forces -- same
U. S. Army -- both my fathers, and one of my grandfathers, served in the Army.
North Carolina -- I attended NCSU
New York City -- I worked in the World Trade Center
Arizona -- My home state
MacMedic -- I'm a nurse
Armstrong -- Step-father's a Nixon, which is an Armstrong sept
Regan -- somewhat tenuous, as it's my given name, but I admire ITA4020.
And all the universals, of course.
