Hmmm, I don't have a beard, and I kind of have a look younger than I am thing going on that seems to be working ok. However, I would agree that a beard that looks good on a guy goes great with a kilt. There are though, many different kinds of beard styles, and I'm not sure they would all go well with a kilt... I might go for that "I haven't shaved in a week" kind of beard.

That's what I've done this past year (since shaving my beard). Works out pretty good - so you should try it.

Though, women complain that it itches/scratches their face when hugging. Oh well...

I'm an artist, so some times I lock myself up in my studio/house working on a sculpture for a couple of weeks. Usually during those spells, I shave with one of those beard trimmers on the closes setting so I don't have to mess with all the foam and stuff. It would work as a look I think.

Yep. If I grew a mustache, it could be the Magnum PI look...

Kilt, goatee and piercing. This seems to work out pretty good, as is expresses a few pieces of my personality... as does the shaved head.

I’ve only had my beard full time, since I got out of the Corps, (12 years now) but I will always have it now. I have many friends and Brothers who have never seen me without a beard.

However, I was able to twice grow a beard while on active duty. Once in Viet Nam, when on a long extended mission, and once while serving with “aggressor” troops on Isabella Secunda, Puerto Rico. I wish I had some photos of both times, but I don’t.

I agree, kilts and beards go together, but I'm prejudiced and opinionated on the subject...

I have had mine for years, due to having one being a tradition in my order. Living as I do in the inner city, I do feel less likely to be mocked for my kilt, though, due to having a beard (and a white one is so much the effective for this!). As one of the few white residents in the area, I figure that my neighbors think that I'm some kind of crazy Irishman.

Btw, James, where in P.R. is Isabel Segunda?
