So if I'm reading the article correctly, this pattern can be confirmed as dating to 1746? Or is it 1764? (as stated under the right-hand tartan pic in the article)

Those colours in the Lochaber are just beautiful. All tartans should be dyed with 18th century dyes!
Is this tartan going to be in 16 ounce?

This tartan would certainly make a fine looking kilt, any way it is pleated.
If I can put in an order for at least 30 yards, the fabric will be 54" wide, and $65/yd.
Smaller runs would be 29" wide.

So being new to this and all, if it's "double width", how many yards (on average) would one need to order for a kilt?
