I remember, now. He wore it with you to a couple of Rabbie Burns Suppers, yes?

Spencer Jacket
I've had a spencer from Worldwide Tuxedos for a couple years now. For the small investment, it's great for the rare formal event I attend. I pair it with a 3 button vest from Uniformal Wearhouse, and have replaced all the silk buttons on both with some silver Celtic design ones from the local fabric shop. The jacket came with 4 buttons but I went with 6.
Order of the Dandelion, The Houston Area Kilt Society, Bald Rabble in Kilts, Kilted Texas Rabble Rousers, The Flatcap Confederation, Kilted Playtron Group.

I checked with Worldwide Tuxedos, and they were able to find a Spencer jacket in 48L, which I ordered. If your size isn't listed, contact them - you might luck out.

Well, I finally got the Three Feathers buttons sewn on this morning so I thought I'd see what you guys think. I'm still waiting on the postman to deliver my formal sporran; it's black fur-on cowhide with a chrome cantle.
Here is the outfit as it stands now:

I'm a bit self-conscious about the quality of the kilt (SWK standard) for the Burns supper. I think it looks sharp and quite festive, but I've also never been in a room full of kilties. I fear it may stand out like a clown suit in a group of bespoke dinner jackets.

I understand about the acrylic SWK, fshguy; I have the same worries about my Nightstalker. I think Panache has worn his as a part of formal attire, but the accessories balanced it all out.
I can't look at your pictures, does this jacket have a knotched lapel, or a shawl lapel?

Thanks Ted. The jacket has a peak lapel. It is somewhat similar to a notch, but the outside corner of the lapel that creates the notch is sort of pointed up toward the shoulder and elongated. I hope I did that explaination justice. It is a very common lapel for tuxedos.

Thanks for describing that, fshguy. I'm starting to like those more than an Eton jacket. Glad you have taken the plunge for us.
* and I see that you had answered the peak lapel question befor. Sorry about that; I missed it the first time.

That's a great looking jacket... too bad they don't have my size...
