I haven't delved back into my early family history, but the basics are 1/2 English (mother's side), 1/4 Irish, and 1/4 Danish. My last name, Gingles, is Irish. Supposedly my Irish ancestors came from Larne, in County Antrim. Aside from that I have no idea about my heritage.

If you don't have any luck with the Clan MacDonald
you might look at Clan Wallace as we offer membership to the following:
"Membership in the Clan Wallace Society is extended to the Clan and Family of Wallace (various spellings), those related to them by blood, or by marriage, and to anyone else having an interest in the purposes of the Society, which are: Educational, with emphasis on the history of Scotland, it's public figures, such as Sir William Wallace, the National Hero of Scotland who suffered martydom for his country in 1305, it's Clans and the heritage and achievements of those of Scottish decent."

Well I am a Canadian of many generations on my Fathers side with Scotish heritage. My Mother moved to Canada when she was in her 20's, she is Scotish but born on Africa. So I have Scotish blood in my veins but I am Canadian first. I have a few tartans to choose from clan wise, but I also wear what I want if I like it. I think the Clans won't get to pissed off with me because I only pay them respect when wearing their tartan.
I am along the lines of every Man is intitled to be Kilted and therefore he should be. If you are worried about what tartan you are to wear then go for a plan coloured Kilt or some tartan which everyone can wear, there are plent of those around.
Bottom line is Enjoy your Kilt and wear it with Pride, let no one tell you other wise.

Norwegian here. Traditionally, we're not kilt wearers. The vikings probably wore some unbifurcated garments back in their day, but most traditional Norwegian clothing is rather boring these days, worn only on special holidays with the family while listening to prarie home companion. Nowhere near as much fun as wearing a kilt

Well, I'm Half Scottish
It's my mother's side that was Scottish--her name was McLean, and her mother's name was McCaffrey.

I have Scottish on both sides of the family. My grandmother on my mother's side also had some Irish. My father's side has a little Welsh, and English. I am a Celtic stew. I have a great T-shirt that says
I'm have Irish and half Scottish. My Irish half wants to drink to night away, but the Scottish half doesn't want to pay for it
. According to a family history, I am distantly related to the Harrod family (yes that Harrod). What do you think should I call up Al Fayed and ask for my cut?
I am fifth genereation Canadian on the MAckenzie/Mackay (mother's side), and fourth Genereation on the Wood (father's side). I know where both sets of familiys came from, and have been to a few of those locations. I am first and foremost Candian, but Celt is a close second.

Canadian Stew
Well, to answer the question of Scottish descent, one of my great, great grandfathers was supposed to be from Scotland, and he went by the name of Keays. The only thing is that I can't find Keays anywhere else in reference to Scotland, only to Ireland, so I'm somewhat confused.
For those who are interested, my ancestry is something like this...
Going by my great, great grandparents, (which is as far back for me as I know), I'm a 1/4 Irish, 1/16 German, 1/8 Canadian, 1/16 English, 5/16 Finnish, and 3/16 unknown.
Only 3 of my great grandparents weren't born in Canada, one of whom was from Finland, another was from Ohio, and the last from Newcastly on Tyne.
And that concludes this portion of the broadcsst.
Well, this is my first post, so here goes the intro...
Hi, my name's Brodi Beagan, I'm 16 years old, born and raised in Timiskaming Shores(New Liskeard), Ontario. I've been kilting for about three months now. For now I just have a black wool kilt that was made for me by a friend, and it will soon be joined by the Bear Kilt I just ordered.
