Doc Welcome to the Board. Good to have another
southerner on the board. 8) This board is full of
great folks from every corner of the world.
It is also filled with useful information on everything to do with Kilts.
I can relate to your family information.
It wasn't until I started a family tree did I
find all the Scottish and some Irish connections.
I have a couple of questions about your sign off.
I understand NRA but what does your other
abbreviations stand: F&AM, CSA, SCV ??
Just Curious

Hi Doc.
Welcome to the boards! I just wanted to let you know that there are some really cheap (cost wise - not quality ) kilts out there.
Check out:
Bear Kilts
USA Kilts
Cheap Kilts
Stillwater Kilts....
Those are some options if you're worried about making a mess of your kilt. But, a lot of the guys here have made their own kilts, and have had great experiences.

Nothing too mysterious.
F&AM = Free & Accepted Mason
CSA = Confederate Sixgunners of America
SCV = Sons of Confederate Vererans
The CSA is a loosely organized group of Southerners who make their Home on the Cyber-Range at Sixgunner.Com. We've held Annual Rendezvous since 2000, and this year, we are making the Rendezvous semi-Annual. We have to much fun visiting, talking, showing off new guns, or knives, eating and shooting to wait a whole year to do it again. The last Rendezvous was at the end of March, we had nearly 40 folks from 8 different states. The next one is planned for the end of September for Athens, TX.

Hi Doc,
This page on my site has links to a bunch of casual kilt makers.
I find it easier to check out different kinds of kilts from one link site.

I just wish you could get the kit program together, even if it didn't mean much of a saving over the ready-made version.

I wish I had time to get to it, too! Maybe if I can find a couple more seamstresses.
I think it wuld put a lot more guys in kilts and give people a greater knowledge of how much detailed work goes into a well made kilt.
