All I see is a bunch of scruffy louts in dresses.
How do we know they are wearing kilts ?
I see no non-pleated apron , no belt , no sporran , no straps ,
No Kilt !!!
If T. Hilfiger want to show boys in girls clothes , he could have had the decency have them wearing Burberry 'tartan' skirts .

. Something really sad has happened to the guy being held, like maybe the guy's puppy just died or something like ash scattering ceremony.
Or the one in the middle just dropped his pint...

This AD is sooooo much more enjoyable now that we can imagine what might be going through their mind, about what went off the cliff.

I think we ought to chill out a bit here... Agree to disagree.. Ther is no need to get bent out of shape.. It's only a picture after all is said and done

Quaich Maker:
105 pages, and it'd be a shame to have the mods lock it down. You are ENTIRELY welcome to your opinion as to what makes a kilt a kilt and not a skirt---even if our definitions differ. Elsie Struhemeyer holds to a very rigorous definition of a kilt too (eight yards more or less, worsted tartan wool, knife pleated).
I most humbly suggest that, as a new kid on the block, you focus on catching more flies with honey than with vinegar.
Best,

All these quotes have me thinking: should we contact Hilfiger and let them know about their new ad campaign? (for kilts of course)

I just found this picture online, and I'm won't make fun of these people, because it looks like their having a great time, which is truly what it's all about. I was looking at this picture though and I thought i'd bring up the topic of shoes again. It looks like only one of the guys all the way on the left is wearing decent shoes. I know that black typically looks the best, but are their other options out there other than black Ghillies?

I think the only don't is the socks and sandals. I don't plan on ever buying Ghillies.
CT - ever, not even for the wedding (whenever we get to that point)

Well when I am @ W3rk, my shirt is proscribed. Only steel toed boots in my area, and the only ones that would fit my mangled foot were in oxblood. So I do my best, and wear a smile with my kilt.
I see that my supplier has black now, so I will be getting those.
I like plain black oxfords when in more civilized situations. I have worn my brown and ox blood birkenstock casual oxfords but I have no idea how proper it all is. Since nobody around me knows a thing about kilts I kind of have to do my own thing with the best advice I can find on here.
