In my case the beard came before the kilt in my son's case it is the opposite. Manys the time I have thought about the possible adventures had I started the kilt wearing earlier!!!!
Right now, between the beard and the hair, Riverkilt and I could be taken for brothers. In fact while in Las Vegas, Mr. Kilt thought I was Ron!
Beard on!

If memory serves, Isabela Secunda is the island where the Navy has a target range. Now I'm not sure if it is the island or the town. That was many, many years ago, during the Cuban Missle crisis era. We wore green utility trousers (before the cammies were adopted) Khaki shirts, mixed hats, and were encouraged to grow beards. We looked just like Castro's hoards when we came screaming out of the hills.
I never worried about where it was when I was there, cause I knew where I was, I'll have to do some googling and get back to you.
OK - Isabela Segunda (correct spelling now) was the training base, that is now disbanded on the island of Vieques. Wow, time flies.

Well, I don't have beard yet, but I think the beard and kilt were made for each other. It gives it a viking/barbaric feel. ZZTop...in kilts....

Guess if your beard is long and you have to cut it off, you could like tie it in a ponytail first, then lop it. That way you can just carry it around in your belt like a scalp.

I haven't seen what's under my beard in about 12 years. My first wife hated the beard, so I guess it started about two years before we ended, lol. I realy couldn't imagine myself without it now. The vast majority of the people with whom I currently associate have never seen me wihout it.

I just got off 2 weeks of leave and hadn't shaved the whole time. How I hated shaving this morn. But I am in agreance that I think I look better with a beard and a kilt than smooth faced and with a kilt.

I've had a beard of some sort since they kicked me out of the Marine Corps 26 years ago. First grew it as a sort of personal protest against that unexpected discharge.
Last time I shaved I didn't like what I saw. I used to have a sharply defined jaw, and that had become kind of smooth and saggy.
Yeah, I think a beard goes well with the Kilt. And also a shaved head; but that's probably just me.

I know... That first shave after going for a while can be brutal. I've just been shaving with the beard trimmers. I'm just trying to make sure nobody thinks I'm (higher class than I am, LOL!
