"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

You ruddy well SHOULD be proud of it. That's a great looking job. The X-kilt is like falling off a log, in comparison to what you've achieved with that kilt.

Very nice indeed. The denim looks good and you pull it off well.

Thank you 7 miles. There were moments of doubt while I was in the middle of the process! I'm glad it came out pretty okay.

Very impressive. I'm wanting this book as well. Looks like you've got a good handle on it. So, when will you try a tartan kilt?

Thanks 12stones. I don't know how I'd ever be able to do it without The book. I had some instructions pulled from here and there on the web but not with the level of detail that Barb and Elsie's book provides.
If I can find a really inexpensive (but good quality tartan (wool or PV), I'd try it. I found a simple (two-color) plaid that I'm going to try make an X-Kilt with. That was the last 2 yds of double-width fabric from a bolt at Hancock. They say they could not re-order that fabric (what a shame!) I have an SKU # for it, maybe I can look for it (or anybody near a Hancock fabric store.)
BTW, your Cammie Kilt #1 looks Great!

Indeed it is my first attempt. Thanks for the compliments Bryan. A friend who owns a Lochcarron was very apprehensive when I first mentioned that I wanted to make one. He's turned around and made a 180° when he saw the final product (stage by stage process).
