I stopped counting at 20 inches.
I'm rather sore today from shoveling. Can't wait for tomorrow.

Dee,
You do not live far from my sister. My brother-in-law insisted on moving to Virginia to get away from the white stuff in Southern New Hampshire. He is looking out at the nearby golf course and twenty-three inches of greens cover. The town in New Hampshire he moved from has one half inch of snow....
I did call him this morning to ask why he thought it was such a good move..His answer is not suited for a family forum.
Tartan Hiker and MadBagpiper, today was the first time my spouse has suggested I play the pipes out in the snowstorm. I used the opportunity to get in some playing time. It has turned into three hours of good fun...

I'm sure I was using some of the same words while shoveling the car out for the second time.

I measured 23.5 on my deck and I'm just a few miles south of you (Chantilly area). However, while shoveling out the driveway it appears to be more consistent at 18-20.

Well, here in west-central Illinois we have gotten about 1.5" of snow on the ground. A little more predicted for this week, but only about 6" total, nothing like what you guys have.
Stay safe and stay warm. Thanks everyone for posting the photos.

All this snow prevented delivery of my special delivery from a certain kiltmaker. It was due to be here on Friday, and just arrived (1 pm Sunday) via FedEx. Pics will be up soon!

All we got was rain in Atlanta. Could you send some ale down this way anyhow!

The snow made it's way to the Cape last night and it's still coming!

Can't keep up. I'll just wait for it to rain.

A Good Neighbor
As I was shoveling the 20 inches of snow off my driveway, a John Deer lawn tractor with a snow blade on the front whose driver was wearing a Santa cap came up to me and said, let me make that a little easier for you. Less than 15 minutes later a 4 hour job of shoveling was over! I was expecially appeciative of him removing the two & 1/2 foot high snow/ice mound created by snow plow early this morning.
