Anyone who is a fly fisherman AND wears a MacLaren tartan so well--can choose ANY post he desires--in my opinion

I'm in the same situation as Jordan. Kilts are not the most appropriate attire for wrestling with resisting suspects who REALLY don't want to be arrested.

It worked for Rowdy Roddy Piper. Oh wait, back then none of the WWF guys were suspects yet.

I like the idea, especially considering the harassment another member recently posted about from a supervisor at a bookstore.
I'm self employed right now, so I can dress in what I please, but a mechanic's work is not conducive to preserving a kilt. I'll have to keep on sacrificing goodwill p@nts.
I am a former AM2(AW) US Navy, and am going back to the military...army this time, and wear both unofficial tartans. Maybe a side effort of the organization could be getting the military branches, state and local governments, and other organizations to adopt a tartan officially. Just my $.02.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

Good thread.
I then hereby appoint myself as 委員長 Iincho (union chairman) of Japanese Local #55 of the International Union of Kilted Professionals - Tokyo Chapter.
No smilies here. Unions are serious business.

Hey, I'm new here - still on the learning curve. Only time I noticed a red flag was when I got an email from a mod on some thread...and yup, there it was. Noticed it on this post again...so figured I'd been mod red flagged out of the chute. Had not clue that we all got one on every post...there's 2% who never get the word....
And, for the record, I've done take downs kilted. Think it gives more flexibility and makes it easier to hold the bad guy down. Doesn't limit leg position like bifurcated options. Yes, was wearing undies.
Anyhow...guess the original tongue in cheek idea was to have something to make the power and control bosses think they were up against something more than the employee alone.

It's too late, Ron, your amygdala has taken note of the red flag. You will now feel like you are going to be punnished every time you see one.
Sorry for the Psychobabble.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
