Welcome Cajun,
I pulled a 30 year 'sentence' down in Phoenix before escaping the heat, smog, traffic, and gunfire and moving up here to the canyonlands.
Jump right in, there are Highland Games 3/31 just up the road in Camp Verde, AZ

Official Representative for Clan Boyd in the Southwest
Excuse me.... however, as the President of the House of Boyd Society (aka Clan Boyd) the organization that supports the Fellowship of the Boyd Clan, and the only Boyd organization to ever have enjoyed sanction by our Chief, Lord Kilmarnock, I must state that the Southwest Representative is Terri Jo Boyd of Universal City, Texas.
We have not appointed any other convenors/representatives in Texas. Nor do I know who you are. Feel free to contact me or any others of the Executive Board off this forum at our Society addresses as found at http://www.clanboyd.org
I am interested to know who, and by what authority, appointed you a representative of the Clan Boyd. . . seems that you may have been misled.
Yours Aye,
Lauren M. Boyd, FSA Scot
President
House of Boyd Society, Inc.

Ms. Boyd, allow me to welcome you to the X Marks forum. I believe this is a good time to point out we are all here because of our interest in wearing the kilt. We are fortunate to have members from all over the world, of both sexes and of all ages. We have several members living within Scotland, many members that make up the exiled Scottish diaspora and many members that have absolutely no connection to Scotland at all. It is the kilt that forms the common bond amongst our members.
Please understand that we have no desire for any clan society stushies to be dragged into this forum. Nor will we tolerate them being dragged into this forum. While I see many clan societies doing good work among their members, with programs like genealogy research and other civic functions in their communities, I personally have little stomach for groups that charge others cash to be 'pairt o' th' clan'. If a man's name is Boyd, then he's a Boyd with no fees required to pull his chair up to the table. A membership card from your organization or any other Boyd organization does nothing to make him any more kin than he already was. Can you now see how interested I am in playing referee to your 'we were here afore you' game?
If you care to join our discussions on kilts, I welcome you to the forum. If you care to pick a fight, pick it elsewhere. I trust I make myself quite clear and I leave the choice up to you.
