    New from Phoenix, AZ

Hello from Phoenix. My wife and I just moved here from Dallas, TX. I am the SW Rep. for Clan Boyd and play the bagpipes. We go to alot of Celtic related events all over from highland games, piping events...you name it. I wear the Clan Boyd tartan and the MacGregor tartan (pipe band).

Welcome, and are you Cajun as well? I am Cajun "by the ring and the backdoor".

My father was born in Prescott, and spent a good deal of his life in Ashfork. My grandparents lived in North Phoenix (near Metrocenter) and I spent a lot of my summers in AZ, fond memories!

    Cheers,

    Todd

Yep, Cajun too. I was born in Lafayette, grew up in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana then moved to Texas for most of my life. Now in Arizona. Apparently, the Acadian community has pretty strong ties to the Nova Scotians. I have read alot about the connections. I am Gaelic/Celtic on the other side of the family. Small world.

Don't forget, there are two "Cajun" tartans: The Nova Scotia and the Louisiana. My DW has sashes in both of them that she wears to Scottish functions.

I joke that our marriage is "The Auld Alliance" between Scotland and France!

Welcome to the Valley of the Sun. I'm in Mesa, Arizona right now. I'm not sure if you'll get this message in time, but we're having a Kilt night this Friday Night at an Irish pub called Fibber Magee's in Chandler on the southeast corner of Dobson and Elliot. An awesome band by the name of the Keltic Cowboys are playing around 9:00PM. There should be around 10 of us in kilts this friday. If you've got some free time, come on out for a pint. I'll be the one in the Irish national Tartan. Slainte!

    Welcome aboard from Middle Georgia!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon
