I have. Just after I took those photos, I changed out of the shirt (an ultra-suede button-down) into a black polo and swapped the dressy shoes for some low Doc Martin's. I was going to a dive bar, so I didn't want to look, um, out of place.

I just LOVE how the tartan looks on you - great with the black.

Barb, thank you for my best kilt yet! I am SO glad we didn't go for pleating to the lawn chair. The sett is a good size for my wide bum even though with these colors, there's no missing it! The length is perfect. I must have been feeling a little fat on the day that I took the other measurements, though, since it's perfect around the hips, but I could have nipped in the waist just a bit. It is not at all a problem, though; I know I'll make use of the extra capacity often enough. The extra quarter inch above the buckle and the additional flair make this kilt oh-so comfortable. It feels secure without any sensation of constraint or slipping. I just love it! And thank you for the precision flashes, too! They just complete the total package.

I appreciate everyone's comments. Thanks much, but the only thing I can take credit for is the moustache.

For anyone on the fence about making the investment in one of these puppies, I just have to say that it is a frugal choice and worth saving up for.

Nope, I double checked, it wasn't me. I didn't dis Rex's tartan; in fact, I said I was moss with envy...

I think it's great that Rex was able to find his tartan and looks good in it. Glad that Barb made it for him too.
