    Tewksbury MOS

Any of you fortunte enough to own a kilt by Barb Tewksbury know the care she takes in making sure it is perfect, from the meticulous work she puts into every seam, stitch and pleat to the way she packs it for shipping. When I got my Gordon Modern from Kiltstore it was folded and stuffed into a shipping box. Here is what you can expect from Barb. My Macdonald of Sleat 8-yarder.

The kilt arrives in two priority mail boxes assembles end to end

It is carefully wrapped in heavy paper

You can see how carefully it is packaged

It comes with 4 - count 'em - 4 rows of basting stitches. Nothings' going to move until you want it to Check out those pleats. Perfection!

    Front shot

This is my Christmas Kilt. I went shopping at Target (store colors green and red) and thought I might be mistaken for some holiday display, but folks were too busy shopping. I only got stopped once.

Maybe it's my eyes, but every pleat shot I've taken of this sett looks out of focus to me. This is the best I can do. You can tell Barb got the pleats and hip size spot on by how straight they hang, with no in-and-out waviness.

Barb is great to work with. We probably exchange 15 emails discussing the kilt. One of the things I had her try was doing the left side strap like Matt Newsome does, so there's no hole in the waist band. It's very nice, but I think for a tank I prefer the traditi0nal way.

Wow! Gorgeous kilt. I have one of Matt's boxpleats, and a USAK semi-trad on the way. A kilt from Barb will be my NEXT focus of desire...!

This was my experience with Barb as well. She even challenged my measurements a few times (never having seen me either), and in the end it turns out she was right and my tape measure was wrong. Nevertheless, we worked through it and I have a piece of art I get to wear whenever I want (tonight even, maybe)!

Congrats on getting a fine garment from Barb - you will enjoy it very much.

    Looks absolutely incredible!
I love the Macdonald of Sleat. Such a rich colour but not too overwhelming.

    Congratulations! Looking good.
Now I know what to expect next month when my Dutch Friendship Tartan arrives. I might be sporting one of those grins as well.
    Cheers
