You may have a better chance of reserving a spot if you can arrive on Thursday the 12th. A lot of folks try at the last minute for Friday-Saturday spots, I'm told.

I plan to fly a red ribbon at my tent spot and wear one behind my kilt pin as an x-marks Identifier. Might also fly an x-marks tartan banner. keep your eyes peeled.

Whoo Hoo! I get to go. I just bought tickets online for Sunday, since my son is camping in nearby Camp Linn Haven, a Lutheran campground and we need to bring him there Sunday afternoon. My wife said (and this is a big deal), yes this is the perfect time to wear the kilt!

So I will be there with family most of the day Sunday. Did we decide on a red ribbon under the kilt pin?

Watson flag to fly at Grandfather!

Just ordered a horizontal banner with the Watson crest on it from Highland Line in Ontario Canada. www.highlandline.com They make nylon flags, angled banners, and horizontal banners with the crest of several different clans. Run by Alan Wilson, who has been to Grandfather before and may be coming again this year. When the banner is delivered I'll let you know what it is like.

We are arriving at the campsite Tuesday July 10 and leaving Monday July 16, so will be available for any XMarks activity. Look for the Watson flag at our camper, all Xmarkers welcome!

Now if Matt Newsome will get our Watson kilts and skirts compleated, all will be well.

Kilted Christian - Know camp Linn Haven. A great place. Have camped there, and our kids have attended some of their weekly programs. A really well-run decent family sort of place.

Red ribbons seem to be the thing this year. Will try and get some for my son and myself for our kilt pins. And put one up at the campsite.

My wife (and probably myself) may help out at the COSCA tent. (The Council of Scottish Clans and Associations, Inc.) Met a lady at the Triad Highland games in Greensboro a few weeks ago who appears to have talked us into helping. She said that when people ask questions you just look it up in their books. I hope so, because what do I know?

I fly several flags at our camp site.
The one that stands out the most is the Clan Wallace flag.
I will post a photo of it once I take time to break out the camera.

Well, good news, I mentioned the games to my wife who thought it would be fun to go. Her Mom lives about 1.5 hours so we will drive up to her Moms on Friday night, then leave our 3year old daughter with Grandma and hit the road early Saturday morning to the games, coming back late Saturday night. We have never been to any games before, so this should be fun for us. My Wife is due in late August so this will be our last trip before the baby is born. I am hoping for cool weather on Saturday so my wife does not melt.
