I have taken into consideration that it might be a distraction. I plan on speaking with my bishop and stake president (pastors) about it. I am going to see what they think first. If it is going to be to big a distraction, I would not wear it. If only one other person in my congregation wore one, it might be a touch easier. Maybe I could get the native Hawaiian gentlemen to wear his lava lava (I think that is what it is called.)
Wow Brice, you look sharp! I like your sporran.

Thanks! That was actually for someone else. They did not want it, so it has just been sold to someone on here. I make sporrans for everyone else but me. I need to make me one.

Brice, the revisions have made you look like a pro. How dashing you look.
Regards,
Rex.
At any moment you must be prepared to give up who you are today for who you could become tomorrow.

Greetings Brice,
I truly like the revised version. You look like you are standing taller even than in the first version. Perhaps it is the maturing affect of the long sleeved shirt.
Or that may be my personal predjudice showing, never got used to short sleeved shirts and ties.
For myself I have been kilted in my son's Ward in WA, but not in my own. We do have one fellow who will occasionally wear his kilt. I used think about the distraction as well, but since I no linger sit on the stand I may reconsider. Of course I always wear a suit, so kilted I would want to wear my Argyle.
Hmmm, you are an inspiration sir. I salute you.
Cheers,
Marshal Moroni

Lookin' sharp there, buddy!
I do agree with Jock Scot about the hem line and the kilt pin, but you must do as the situation requires, if your congregation, family, religion, etc. requests it at the level it is. Outside whatever circumstances encourage the lower hem, I think it'd look even better to the top of your knee...and like he already said, that's really piddly stuff .
What I really dig about it is the way you've successfully combined traditional and modern semi-formal styles. The sleeves look much sharper than the T, and the "contemporary" (?) length of the tie (the way we'd wear it with a suit) looks much better IMHO than the way a short tie would, if you'd hiked up the kilt--so despite how much better the hem line might look over your knees, I think you've nailed the mix of styles. The skunk compliments the white shirt and dark socks, and the metal really stands out without being overbearing. Overall, it looks like you're wearing the kilt as clothing, not as a costume, uniform or fashion statement.
Nicely done sir ...I'll keep the lowered hem line in mind for my own forays in to the p@ntsed world.
