not sure with a retail client......
it's late. after midnight.
tomorrow {this morning} i meet with a retail customer for some network consultation.
i seriously want to wear a kilt. i'm sure i won't be placed in a physically awkward position. i'm merely doing some traffic sampling. a little protocol sniffing here and a little protocol sniffing there.
a little ethernet bridging. no ladders. ;)
should i or should i not don the kilt?

hmmm...
it's cultural dissemination. right? hahaha... what the hay.
it's a kilt. what's the worst that could happen? a snide remark? a letter to my boss? let's see who shakes in their legs. i can't. i have flashes.

It takes courage to be "different." As often as I've worn my kilt to work there's still a brief "what if?" reaction when I'm dressing. What if this is the day they say they've had enough, etc.
Was bifurcated last week when I had to go to the jail to interview a client who violated probation. His probation officer wants him out of jail and in treatment. As I arrived at the jail I was grateful I was bifurcated that day. No clue what, if anything, the deputies would have said or done if I'd arrived kilted. That would have been a "test" of some sort.
Anyway, point is, its natural to have what some call "fear of impendinging doom." Just kilt thy loins and sally forth. You're bound to have an adventure and isn't that what a full life is all about?
Jobs an relationships come and go, its YOU that's important. Be yourself, live free.

I wore my kilt to a legal training course over 3 days. The only apprehension or "difficulty" was in my head, not the other people on the course !
Everybody on the course was complimentary and the course leader was overjoyed at having a kiltie for the first time ! Not a single bad comment.
Go for it !

just a note .....
well, i was a bit apprehensive in meeting with a retail customer in kilt.
let's just say there is an office full of women that, upon my return, expect a network admin in kilt and will be seriously disappointed if he doesn't.
one quote in particular .... "just look at him sashay" as i was walking down the hall. i had to think a minute and then realized she was watching the swish of my kilt.... among other things ...
that worked !

Good job Ambrose! Now that you have the reputation of being the network admin in a kilt, there is no stopping you now
