There was a programme on BBC1 tonight, billed as the last in the series, (I didn't see any of the others) and was supposedly a fly in the wall documentary about a skinflint scot who was persuaded by his friend to spend more money on enjoying life. Wife was watching it and I wasn't intending to watch it until I noticed that both the guys were wearing kilts. It made really good viewing, not only the locations around Glasgow and Ayrshire where the guys went to the shops, bowling alley, pub etc. but also the kilts, various tartans and a navy blue self colour, teamed with matching hose or cream hose, with casual tops or jacket, collar and tie and they wore several different outfits during the programme. In about ninety per cent of the scenes they wore kilts. The kilts were not part of the story line, apart from one scene where they visit a kilt shop to buy a smarter sporran. I wish television would show more programmes like this where the "stars" appear perfectly natural in kilts as this woudl surely encourage more kilt wearing.
