Oops! Should have done this sooner
Hi All
I missed this particular part of the message boards when I started a few weeks back. Please accept my apologies.
I guess I'm still a relative newcomer to kilts. I purchased a Bear Maple Leaf about three years ago and love it. Unfortunately between wife, kids and new digs, I haven't been able to add much to it. Having said that, I corresponded with Colin, met him for coffee and purchased a kilt belt he had for sale. I've also corresponded with David (going to get a Freelander since the sporran Bear made me also has Maple Leaf tartan on it) and Steve (Cavscout) to make some sporran straps to hold up the new sporran. I've also got my eyes on a Freedom Kilt as well.
Two things in particular strike me about this board. I read it daily, though I don't post frequently. One is the sense of camaraderie amongst fellow kiltwearers. Virtually everything is encouraged. The other is hearing about new offerings as they become available. When I saw the weathered Lamont, I couldn't help myself. Stillwater Kilts have a good reputation in these here parts, and that was good enough for me. They have one in my size, which was better, and I had a credit card credit (if that makes sense) which my wife can't get her hands on. Treated myself to an extremely early Father's Day gift. So early in fact that I hope to be able to repeat this around...Father's Day.
With the exception of Colin and Bear, whom I have met, I feel like I do know a number of you through your postings here. I am pleased to be contributing in some small way.
