A moment when I wished I'd been kilted
Just back from holiday in the Scottish Highlands where I wore a kilt every day for all or part of the day. Never received a single comment while kilted BUT I wore shorts for the earlier part of a day in Fort William due to walking over rough and muddy ground. Returning to my car I became aware of a middle aged man wearing glasses and standing at the door of the car next to mine who was staring at me as I walked towards my car. As I was parked next to him I had to walk right up to him to the point where he had to speak. "I'm curious," he said, "are you a man or a woman?" I explained that I was wearing shorts because I had been hiking, and the deepness of my voice as I spoke answered his question. So in future I'll be wearing kilts more often as a clear statement of manhood. I can well do without wearing unisex clothes such as trousers and shorts which leave folk in doubt.
