Here in the northeast US, we've been experiencing a lovely, extended "Indian Summer" with temps well above the seasonal norm (heck, the cursed grass is still growing! I was out mowing yesterday...).

Anyways, a week from today is opening day for regular deer season here. If this warmish weather holds, I'm thinking of heading out in my belted plaid ("great kilt") for a day's deer stalking. I hunt with a flintlock, so I'd be appearing as a 1740's highland hunter (I wear 18th C. garb for "period" hunting as a rule, anyways). My stuff is all red-based tartans, so I'll be quite visible to other hunters - and that's not really an issue as I'll be on family land with only a couple of well-known hunting partners.

I'll take some pics if I actually do this. Anyone else hunt while kilted?
