    Braveheart Tartan

Has anyone had a kilt made yet in the Braveheart tartan (the Mel Gibson variety from celtic croft)?

I'm waiting on a sample, it may be loose, and coarse, but I love the earthy colours

I remember arrogcow mentioning it at some point, unsure if he actually has one or not.

    Hey Graham,

Don't know if this helps. Went to Google Images and put in Braveheart tartan and Braveheart kilt and got a few images of what you're waiting for mixed in with other stuff.

Looks like a lot of folks have coined the term "Braveheart" for tartans other than what was in the movie.

Well, I decided to order a kilt in this tartan, which is sold by Celtic Croft.

I got the sample (thanks rocky) and while it is coarse and very open-weave...I just LOVE the earthy colours, so I'm getting a 5 yard casual.
I'll post piccies and a review when it comes.

I'm sure you made the right decision, Graham, but if I were to chose I'd take an 8-yard kilt since the material is a little lighter.

I agree with you Andrew, but the cost of the wool is quite high and I wanted to keep the cost down.
