A personal thank you to Matt Newsome.
Many of you know Matt from his postings here. Many times we refer to man as "a gentleman and a scholar" when he is neither. In Matt's case this is not true. We all know about the scholar in Matt because of his postings here. Let me tell you a little bit about the gentleman in him as well.
While trying to plan a get-a-way for my bride and me for our 17th anniversary, Matt informed me that my Isle of Skye kilt that he made for me was finished. So I contemplated if there was any way I could combine both. I emailed him with a couple of questions on the Franklin area to which Matt promptly responded. Because of his recommendations, we stayed at a fine B&B that was real reasonably priced (about the same cost as the local Days Inn). Also because of his recommendation on restaurants, my wife and I had two really nice diners. One was a steakhouse located in the middle of a children’s arcade!!! (But the food was excellent)
The other restaurant was named the Frog and Owl and is a couple of doors down from the museum. This was some of the best prepared and presented food I had ever eater at a really reasonable cost (given the type of food).
So, because Matt was patient with me and gave me many options, my wife and I really enjoyed our weekend together!
So, Matt, from the bottom of my and Ruth’s hearts, THANK YOU so much! You truly are “a scholar and a gentleman”!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon
