RAF Tartan with Maroon Accessories
How ironic that Alex was wearing his RAF Kilt for the RAF London Museum tour yesterday, then I'm wearing mine today at work when the lovely pics are posted.
The RAF tartan has maroon in it. I've worn it with a maroon hoodie before out on the rez, but wanted to try it with a maroon sweater for the office today. So did. Was afraid the maroon in the tartan wouldn't show well in the pics, but it seems to be there.

The RAF Tartan kilt was hand sewn by Kathy Lare. Fabric was the last of some of the 16 ounce weight from Strathmore Mills. Lewis kilt hose from the Scottish Tartans Museum, mini Ka-Bar sgian dubh from Kathy Lare's husband, black leather Stillwater nightstalker sporran.
Pics were taken after wearing the kilt all day, mostly seated in the office.

Nice thing about 16 ounce wool kilts. You just don't have to worry about wrinkles.
Oh, and for some reason I did get nice comments from the ladies at the office. One lovely young thing 1/3 my age said she loved the swing of the pleats. See, another reason to invest in 16 ounce wool kits....

"I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."
