I think Aussies are too polite...
I've now worn a kilt to several large shopping centres in the last week, including appointments and visits with some professionals and general shopping. Including a much busier than expected Saturday afternoon.
The only comment I got was from a spruiker for a fitness centre asking if I wanted to "tone those legs up". Even my grandmother didn't bat an eye the other day when I had to make an emergency visit (but she has seen me kilted before and made a comment the first time...).
Next week, I'm gonna wear my black Union Kilt into town when I see my psychologist. (The Union is great because it has pockets!) That involves a train ride.
Of course, this makes me want to buy another tartan one*, and a decent sporran to match, but I won't be financial to do that for quite a few months. I thought three kilts was a lot - I only have three pairs of jeans, for instance - but I've found myself starting to appreciate why people like lots to choose from in their wardrobe!
Wade.
* I have a NeoKilt in snow camo, a Sportkilt in tartarn - which is 100% cotton, of all things, and thus needs much warmer weather - and a black UnionKilt. A good start, but still only a start.

Yes, the obsession. Next thing you know you'll have...
Welcome to the addiction.

Snow (thinking)
I've had a NK Snow Camo on my want list for a long time, what's your opinion of it?
CT - oops, new idea

I don't think my opinion will be worth a great deal as I don't have much to compare it to. But I'll try.
It seems to be a fairly traditional pattern, with three buckles and all pleats the same direction around the back. It likes to sit high, but not necessarily up at your navel. It looks (to me) to be well made.
NK have found a way to add two hidden pockets in the sides, but they're not very big and they're too low for anything heavy. I put a handkerchief in one, but keys, wallet, phone are all too heavy. I have a belt-pouch for those, but it was cheap and is falling apart, so I need to get a real sporran of some sort. The NK has the loops at the back for a sporran belt, BTW.
The other interesting thing is that the PV fabric needs to "warm up". It feels a bit stiff across the top of the apron when you put it on, but in an hour or two it has softened with your body heat and moves better. It is comfortable to wear for many hours, though. Oh, and it washes well in a washing machine!
Partly because it was my first kilt, I will always be fond of my NK. I have had some really positive comments from it, probably due to it's fairly traditional styling yet very modern pattern.
Wade.

Thanks Wade. I had a black NK but I sold it to one of my bartenders, she's still trying to lose another inch to fit into it
CT - fortunately she won't see this ...
