PSA for today.
Please keep in mind that with power tools things can happen lightning fast, and it's not just stock removal.
I just had a sanding drum assembly fly off of my Dremel tool, straight into my right eye.
No matter how focused you are on your project, or if you need that power tool for only a minute or two, do take a moment and put your glasses on!

Very good advice! How's the eye? Hopefully it's not too badly damaged.

Yep, have had things like that happen. Dust mask would probably be a good idea too.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Well said,
Eyeballs are hard to replace.
I hope any damage heals quickly.

Very good advice! How's the eye? As a landscaper I work with and around equipment that can do nasty things to a person in a heartbeat. Be careful!!

PiobBear I sure hope that you had your safety glasses on at the time. My father had his retina tore loose 90% due to a piece of wood that flew up out of our table saw and hit him in the eye. Luckily he had a great eye surgeon who was able to repair the damage and he can see pretty well out of it, but it could have been so much worse. I always wear my safety glasses when working with power tools.

I was extremely fortunate; it's apparently just a corneal abrasion, but it surely did hurt like hell. Kept it closed and bandaged for a day and a half with Neomycin ophthalmic drops. Much better now; just very irritated; feels like it does when you've been up for 24 hours in a desert sandstorm.
Bought three new sets of safety glasses and distributed them throughout the garage; there's a set always within immediate reach now.

Glad to hear it wasn't too serious.
Wear your safety glasses from now on or the Department of Highland Security will confiscate your kilts and pipes.
