Now it's the turn of No.93

Yes, No.93 in The Kilt Kollection was safely delivered yesterday from Geoffrey (Tailor) Ltd of Edinburgh and, of course, I am thrilled with it. Actually, I have been waiting for a while for this one but weaving problems at the House of Edgar mill held everything up for several weeks. Still, I have it now and, as has often been said, good things are worth waiting for!

What is it then? Well, I have long wanted a pretty much all-green tartan and finally settled on the Galloway Hunting tartan in muted colours - the modern colours being far too strident for my liking. This is also known as the Galloway Green - ITI No. 1467. So here it is, my latest 13oz, 8 yard kilt.

First, worn with my lovat green Braemar jacket (quite a while since that has seen the light of day!):

and then the required pleat shot:

Finally, an image showing how well my all-green Freelander sporran, together with the green belt and sporran strap gifted to me by McMurdo**, works with this fine District tartan.

(**Sorry Glen but I interchanged the brass buckle with a chrome one for this ensemble - I think you'll agree it looks better to have co-ordinated metalware as well! )

Advance notice: No.94 is due in 10-14 days!

    Take care,
    Ham.

Hamish, what's your size? I may have to gather the rabble and make a kilt raid!

I would not recommend that! The following is taken directly from a section of the Home page of my up-and-coming Website (with acknowledgement to Steve!):

Anyone thinking of breaking into Bicknell Grange, my ancestral home in Sussex should note that I have recently updated the security precautions protecting the Kilt Kollection, which is now housed in climate - controlled, underground high security vaults. The new vaults are a great success. The blast-proof doors took about 4 days to crane into position, and only I and my executors know the secret combination.
Oh, and Horace the 22-foot-long python hasn’t been fed for over a year, but he has free run of the vaults.
Getting the filtration system for the new shark tank working correctly wasn’t easy (regulating the salinity was a problem) but it’s now working just fine, and ‘Killer’ my 36-foot great white shark is very happy in his new home. A little hungry, perhaps, but happy.

    You have been warned!

Take care (but not when raiding Bicknell Grange!),
    Ham.

Please note that in addition to the above precautions, my team was also consulted to test the security measures. Ms. Raven has made a thorough check of all the measures and made further recommendations to close any gaps in protection she discovered. In addition to the physical measures already stated, a vast array of electronic security measures were added. Although no security measures are absolute, I feel it is safe to say that the measures protecting the Kilt Kollection are as close as is humanly possible.

Ah so thats what you wanted the green belt and sporran strap for.
Another quality kilt, Hamish, you look really suave in it and you are truly a kilt connoisseur.
Wishing you health to wear it.
