A short hike from the shores of Loch Awe, the remains of Kilneuair Church can be found, just a couple of tumble down walls and a the remains of an oratory, and a few graveslabs, but this church is said to hold many unsolved mysteries, it has tenous links to Robert The Bruce, the battle of Bannockburn and the formidable Knights Templar, and lastly the Devil himself.

Firstly the link to Robert the Bruce, Bannockburn and the Knights Templar can be read on this link

And for The Devil read this link

On a stone used to build the church, (although not found when I searched for it) is said to be a carved hand in the neolithic style similiar to those at Barrnakill (only a few yards from where I live)

The ruins are in a very unsafe condition, there are talks afoot that Historic Scotland and the current landowner are going to combine forces and make the building fabric safe, place a roof over the Oratory and re-locate the grave slabs inside, a return trip is planned in the very near future to establish if this work has been carried out and to obtain more photo's
