Tartan finder showing pleat to stripe
I have been looking at tartans on various websites that have tartan finders. I have not seen an interactive tartan finder that will illustrate what the kilt would look like if it were pleated to stripe. Am I missing something?

No. An application that shows pleating options doesn't exist.

Try a very simple fix...
Copy paste the picture into MS Paint or some other simple picture program with an edit feature.
'box' (use the dashed line box) in a tall rectangle around the stripe you want to pleat it to.
Copy
Paste
Repeat...
Put them all side by side and you get the same idea.

Thanks Rocky, your suggestion is one that will work; however, I was looking for a quick (interactive) on-the-fly approach. If an interactive site does not exist, perhaps somebody could be encouraged to develop this feature.

Dooh, (Rocky beat me to it)
What I have done in the past is copy whatever image of a swatch I can find to MS Paint and then copy the section of the swatch that contains the stripe I want to pleat to and paste a series of them together as it would appear on a kilt. This gives me a pretty good approximation of the appearance.
