First Homemade Kilt Just finished

Ok I have been wanting to make my own for a while now. My mom is a really good sewer but I helped with some of the sewing on this too. I have a polyester kilt got off ebay a while ago that fit me good. I used that as a carbon copy for this. This pattern is not a tartan, a fashion tartan. I've searched through thousands of tartans online and this doesn't match anything I've seen. Now the amazing thing is this is real wool and I bought it for $6.80 a yard from a material shop in a small town in idaho where I'm from. I couldn't believe the price. I think it sat in their shop for a very long time and just kept getting marked down lower and lower. We put the leather straps and an inside pocket on the inner apron. It is a 6" sett and I pleated to the yellow stripe with some of the red part showing around the stripe. Total cost of this for me was $25. The only things I would change about it is I have 8" sewn down on the pleats I should've went with about 6" maybe but I'll make that modification later on. I also might need to make the belt loops about 2" tighter cause I'm tending to lose weight lately rather than gain it.
