Taking orders for Carolina tartan
Hi all! I've had several people ask me about buying either kilts or yardage in the Carolina tartan, which is ordinarily a custom run.
I just put in an order for 30 yards, 54" wide, 16 oz woolen material in the Carolina tartan, traditional eighteenth century colors, just like the last run we did.
The fabric takes 8 to 12 weeks to have woven so we are not looking to ship this out till late August more than likely. But you can go ahead and pre-order if you want cloth. The order page is here:
http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/carolina_items.html
(It's below the sashes and the cotton yardage at the bottom of the page).
If anyone wants to have a kilt made in this cloth, box pleated or otherwise, that can be done, as well. I can make a box pleated kilt at the standard price for stock cloth ($395) rather than the custom tartan price ($495). Just contact me for details.
For teasers, here are some images from the last batch, showing the sett and colors.

Everywhere I go wearing the Carolina I get compliments, my review and photos of mine recently came back up to the top, and many newer members expressed interest. With that in mind I'll post a few more shots of my kilt.

I get to be first! I get to be first!
Matt,
Will this be the same color set as the swatcg you sent me? The colors in it are pretty bright, which I like.

David,
I can honestly say that I cannot remember sending you a swatch (it's been one of those weeks). But I can only imagine it was probably a sample from our last run, which is what you see in mine and McMurdo's kilts, above. Should be the same.

Cool. As you know, this one is the next in my "list". I'll send you some $ as soon as I get clearance form She-who-controls-the-checkbook.

It's got the NC State Red and the UNC Carolina Blue in there. Are there South Carolina team colors in there too?

That's not Citadel blue any more than I'm the man in the moon! That's Carolina blue, and always will be.
Yes, Col. Mac, there's USC black and red, and the white that Clemson uses for some things (no orange, thank goodness!)

Please keep this thread on topic.
The Carolina tartan is the offical tartan of both Carolinas. It has NOTHING to do with the Universities or Colleges of either state!
