    Oxford & Windsor

We had a weekend away on a coach trip to Oxford and Windsor. It was a fab adventure and here are lots of pics. Hope you dont get bored. Just took the cilt I wore as it was only over 48hrs hours. For anyone who would like to know how a Cilt/Kilt was received ... as far as the crowd on the coach, various motorway services and Oxford and Windsor itself .... I might as well had jeans on cos ... not one comment about a cilt all weekend, even from all the foreign tourists particulary at Windsor.
Anyhow, I digress, heres some pics

    It was an early start

This is an ad at a motorway services

In no time at all we were in Oxford and set loose on the streets

We then hit the smallest pub in Oxford .. The White Horse. It was used a lot in the Inspector Morse series as one of morses and lewis watering holes

It was also the place of the Oxford Murders and Bill Clinton used it a lot when he was at Oxford Uni

We then took off again and went to a market which was close by

There was a most interesting cake shop there

At the end of the alley way was

We refueled and had some doorstep sarnies .. they were lush

Then it was more walking and eventually we headed to where we had to board the coach again. We were early, it was hot .. so we chilled out here while we waited .. as one does ...

We then were taken to a luxury country hotel for the overnight stay closer to Windsor. The cost of the trip was £59 and that included the coach, the hotel and evening meal and breakfast. We wouldnt normally be able to stay at this place.
So off we went, got stuck in huge traffic jams, the air conditioning on the coach played up but we eventually got to the hotel. It was both a modern purpose built place as well as an old huge country house ffair.
We were a bit hot and bothered when we got there, so we chucked our bags in our rooms and headed to

Later we went to the restautant. The food was superb.

After a nice long time eating n chatting we washed it down back at the bar, before hitting the sack. It was nearly midnight now.

Great tour Derek. Long while since I've been to Oxford or Windsor. Thanks for sharing these. Looking forward to Rumney Folk Festival next month by the way.
