11$ Piper Sporran
Ive always wanted a Piper Sporran, I think they look great, but Ive never had 200$ to spend on one. So, I decided to try to make my own. And I think, for 11$ I did well:
Materials:
1 SWK Economy Sporran
1: Halloween Wig
Scissors
Velcro Tabs

THe web cam pic is bad ( im in a rush, I have to get to work) I will try to get some better pictures later tonight. Basicaly I just cut the wig to fit the sporran, brush and trim. Add some lite hairgell or mousse to hold together the loose strangs, and your done.
Im thinking about going back to the fabric store and getting some furniture tassles to really compleate it.

Well, that is certainly different. I don't know if it would be acceptable to the ultra traditionalists amongst us, but I like the look.

http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/3333/bigwigv.jpg slightly better picture
It could use some more trimming and some brushing, and I want to get some silver trim to make the top edge pop and shine more, but all in all, It looks quite good for so little money spent.

No man is poor if he has imagination; poverty is a state of mind not the condition of one's pocket book.
Well Done Sir, Well Done!
I am quite sure that 150 years ago pipers used what they had on hand to craft their wear, you are following right in their foots steps using what you have to craft what you want.
Hats off! ith:

Thank you
I find, in such an anti hat culture (I dont count baseball caps), a more appropriot gesture would be to put on hats!
