Alternative ideas for kilt socks / hose

    Greetings,
I am a big man, and I am having trouble finding Kilt socks / hose to fit. (I have 21 inch calves) Pretty much all of the kilt socks / hose that I have been able to find are too small for my calves, so my question is what to wear in place of them? I normally wear my knee high leather boots, (their Renaissance Faire styled boots, if that helps with an idea of what they look like). A friend of mine told me that he thought the boots just did not look good at a formal occasions. Does any one have any ideas of what to wear in place of my boots? Or where I can get some very big kilt socks / hose?

Thank you for taking the time to read this and any help you give.

I think the Scottish Tartans Museum has large hose like you are talking about.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

    Here's a direct link:

What you'll want are the "fully fashioned" version that is listed at the bottom of the page. It says these are a special order item, which is by and large true, but at the moment we actually have several colors and sizes in stock on the shelf in the wife calf hose, so PM or call the museum to see what we might have available for immediate shipping.
