I was dutifully carrying packages for my better half, all the while she dragged me to and fro. I was forced to traverse packed malls and discount stores. Of course I had to drive my old jeep, she was afraid some one might scratch her car. I couldn't take my pick-up, "The gifts might get wet in the back." A new dent on that beast would be an improvement.
Side bar: If you drive a lifted, old, beat-up truck, people tend to avoid you, and yield the right of way.
Back to the story at hand. I was forced into Kohl's Department store. As I passed the "Jewelry" area, I noticed Christmas broaches on sale for $3.00. I found a plain white wreath with a red ribbon at the top. I thought it might make a festive kilt pin.
What felt like three days later, I came out of the haze in Macy's. Again, for some reason we had to walk past the jewelry area. They also had broaches on sale. I picked up a 3 1/2 inch Christmas Tree for another $3.00.
To my surprise, the tree looks really good on my Leatherneck, and the wreath looks sharp on the Black Watch. Total shopping, $6.00
