Christmas, courtesy of wife and J. Dunbar

So my wife knows I've been eyeballing Dunbars poly pies for a while. My Gibsons live on top of the piano when not in use. Puting them in a case and removing them every day is a bit much and with two kids it's becoming necessary to do something other than leave a thousand dollars in easily damaged pipes laying around.

So the wife presents me with a brand spanking new stand of Dunbar P1 pipes on Christmas morning. Now the Gibsons can be cleaned up and put away for a few weeks at a time while the Dunbars can live on top of the piano.

They sound pretty good, too. The Ross reed is still breaking in on the high G and A, but other than that it's been a nice thing to mess with for a few weeks now.

Ohiopiper, your wife is a wonderfl woman. Cherish her, love her, care for her, rise and call her blessed.

I haven't been able to commit to learning the pipes yet, but when I do I'm pretty sure I'll get the Dunbars. I have a couple of friends who play Dunbars in pipe bands, and they swear by them.

You are blessed. My ABW Shepherds are a birthday gift from my spouse. A set of Dunbars is planned for the near future for the same reason.

Universe of Bagpipes and Oliver Seeler

She bought them from UofB www.hotpipes.com and the customer service he gave her was awesome. She knows next to nothing about pies and he walked her through the whole thing.

Couple that with his prices (very reasonable) and I'l continue to order stuff from him.
