Call for photos from all of you kiltmakers!

    Hi all,

As many of you know, my daughter (XMarks Kiltmaker's Daughter) is redesigning my extra-lame kiltbook web site. One of the things we're going to have is a gallery of pictures of kilts that people have made using the instructions in The Art of Kiltmaking.

If you have learned kiltmaking from the book, and you have a good quality picture of your kilt (preferably with you in it and showing at least part of the pleats!), please email it to me at orders@celticdragonpress.com along with your name (real or XMarks handle is fine), your location (again, general is fine), the tartan (in case I don't recognize it), and anything you'd like to say about your experience. This must either be a kilt that you made yourself or someone made for you using the book.

I would like to include all photos that people send me, but I will reserve judgment. I don't mind slightly goofy pictures, but I won't post inappropriate ones or poor quality ones (cell phone photos, out of focus, low resolution, too dark, too light, etc.). If I choose not to post your photo, I will let you know so that you can send another photo if you wish.

My Kilt is already in the book on page 138. Does that count?

I take exception to the "extra-lame" comment. Your book has inspired so many to build their own kilt. For me made me aware of just how complicated a well built kilt is and gave me a deep appreciation of this particular garment and those will to undertake such a task. Extra-lame? I think not, it is the be-all and end-all of kilt making.

Ya, didn't get this. Can you re-send?

And by "extra-lame", I actually did mean the website itself, which is pretty pathetic. My daughter has something quite wonderful in progress.

And thanks to ccga3359 for rising to defense of my book - I am really touched!

I think she was referring to the website, not the book itself...

How about a photo of the stacks of tartan that are awaiting "the book" treatment?

I don't have any good photos of my one kilt (to date) by the book. . . will have to remedy that!

I actually like that a lot. Yes - send a photo of "tartan awaiting book treatment". That's great.

And send a pic of the one you've done!
