    New Scottish Military Site

Came across this site by accident recently - http://www.scottishmilitaryresearch.org.uk/index.htm

For those with an interest in all things Scottish military it's a mine of information with some excellent articles and images.

This is the successor site to the now-defunct Scottish Military Historical Society. The articles about individual Scottish units are especially good, thanks to the illustrations of R. Douglas Anderson. The series on Scottish Yeomanry units is worth a look.

Very interesting! I spent some time browsing the 18th century articles. It would be nice if they could include some articles on the Scots Regiments in foreign service at some point.

THE SMHS is no longer operating; I believe this site was set up as an archive of their old web site. Scotwars (which I'm sure you're already aware of ) does have some information on Scots in foreign service, as well as the "Wild Geese" Irish regiments such as Fitzjames' Horse.

I'm familiar with Scotwars but I'm always looking for new resources.

    Thanks.
