Spreading the faith
So my best mate has never really had that high an opinion of kilts. Indifferent at best, with perhaps a slight offhand jeer. Really he didn't see why I wanted to go kilted anywhere outside the renaissance festivals, but not his problem so he shrugged it off. I'd tried to get him in one of my kilts in the past, but he never went for it. He said he'd wear one to my wedding if I paid for it, but otherwise, it wasn't happening.
Not long ago, I bought a lady friend of ours a mini kilt from Rocky. She insisted on having a kilt night and managed to talk him into strapping one on. Feminine wiles, eh? He grudgingly agreed, and he enjoyed it well enough.
A couple days ago, she and I decided to do another kilt night and he practically volunteered to borrow one. He even defended the kilt to someone at the bar, specifically citing how comfortable they are. Afterwards, he confessed that he would be getting one as soon as he can gets a few other things in order! And last night... he spent a few hours researching vendors, asking me about what fabric weight and yardage meant, and so forth... and complaining that there are just too darn many choices
Kinda feel bad about when he starts looking at sporrans... or maybe not
