Stupid holiday!
Not to take anything away from, or add to, this holiday but I have 2 kilts on the way that will be a day later because of this holiday!

Bro, I feel for you. But just consider this: if Columbus had not discovered America, we'd all be somewhere else today.

I completely sympathize. I'm waiting for two kilts. They haven't been sent, but I'm sure that the holiday can't be speeding things up!
And I see it this way: If Columbus hadn't discovered America someone else would have...not counting the Vikings who were here a few centuries earlier, or the Indians who were here 30,000 years earlier. I think Columbus gets the credit because "In 1187 Lief Ericson sailed the ocean blue" just doesn't flow. I know my dates are not exact...I didn't take the time to look them up.

Well of course he did not. St Brendan the Navigator made the journey from Ireland in a leather boat called a currach. To prove it could be done the journey was replicated in 1976 and you can see the boat at the Craggaunowen Project, Quin, County Clare. http://www.craggaunowen.org/

Personally, I think you should have taken the holiday into account when you ordered! You should have ordered your kilt at least a day earlier!
On the other hand, it seems that no matter when I order something, it always comes AFTER the weekend or the holiday, never before.

That would have meant taking personal responsibility. Of course, we can't have that!
