Blue and purple?
What I put on this morning - Hmm. Was matching kilt without thinking of other end. Saw then shrugged. Then went out and started getting complements? Am guessing the Heratage of Scotland is really tying the two together. Opinions?

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

Darker shirt, navy or black... if it were me.

With ya John! But dark colors in New Mexico sun at a mile high altitude is a recipe for copious sweating.
My feet are such that I don't even stand up getting out of bed until the cushion socks and shoes are on my feet.
I usually get done dressing for the day about a half hour and the first cup of coffee later. Guessing I wasnt fully here yet when I finished this morning - LOL Would you go for a light blue ( blue soaks up infrared wavelengths and thus is hot). What you see is what is reflected light, all the other colors are absorbed.
This sun and humidity issue seems to me the big difference between our sides of the pond as to what is prefered or practical. I will add that it applies to the Canadian and sunbelt divide also.
You guys wear HW wool kilts to stay warm in the cool damp climate, where here we are looking for coolness in a dry high altitude climate. Wool looses it's advantage here. Heavy cotton is just as warm as wool with our very low humidity.

At least you have a dry climate! Here in North Carolina near the beach it's hot AND humid, that means sweat!!! I've lived in South Texas w/ dry heat there sweat dried as fast as it came out. Felt cooler to me.
Everything in excess! To enjoy the flavor of life, take big bites. Moderation is for monks. From the note books of Lazurus Long aka: Woodrow Wilson Smith

Of course, it comes down to personal preference and what is available, but on me I don't like the V necked T shirts. Young and Italian are two words that come to mind - I don't know why, but there it is.
For the rest - it looks fine to me.

LOL the notorious beater shirts. Not, here it's just the crew necks seem to irritate the front of my neck.
I think the more fitted shirts look better tucked into the kilt. The loose fabric at the waist of oversized shirts ruins the smooth lines created by the kilt.

It happens to be one of my favorite combinations, actually! In fact, I have a pair of these (http://www.sockdreams.com/products/r...hs?back=search ) in 'purple and royal' just for that purpose :-)

As I am with you too. I've been to hot places meeself and it's not my favourite, at least until I'm acclimatised a bit and even then I just want to hide under stones. I hadn't considered your location when I fired in a response so on consideration. Wear whatever stops you melting. It still looks fine by the way.
