Dress Sporran fur flap vs. full face

My wife does not like the look of a full face Dress Sporran, or as she says a dead rodent pouch. My question; is a fur sporran with a fur flap as dressy as a full face sporran?

A second question. I was in a fly fishing shop recently and saw some bird necks with small iridescent feathers. Has anyone ever seen a feathered dress sporran? I don't think it could take much wear and tear, but I think it could be a really interesting look.

I have to agree with your wife, I'm not a fan of full mask sporrans either. Yes a fur flap will do nicely for formal.
In answer to you question regarding feather sporrans see the link.

Thank You MacCathmhaoil and Downunder Kilt I like the feather sporrans. The next time I am in Havre de Grace, Md I think the Mallard Duck sporran would be ideal.

The full mask sporran is an odd beast, as you can wear it with boots and a pullover or with Black Tie and it's perfect in both situations.

I'd say that a fur flap is probably not as dressy as full mask sporran, but most people you'll meet aren't in a position to really know the difference.

You're right that a feathered sporran is not going to take the knocks that most fur will, but Kate McPherson's duck sporrans are indeed beautiful and would most certainly be a conversation starter.
