VERY special 1-WEEK kilt offer for X-Markers ONLY!
Firstly, may I wish you, one and all, a very happy new year. :-)
I really love this community at XMTS. But being just far too busy with one thing and another, I rarely get to contribute as much as I'd like.
I've therefore decided to make a special once-only offer that I hope a few of you may appreciate, to celebrate the start of what we hope to be a particularly special year for us.
So XMTS members only, and for ONE WEEK ONLY, just follow this link:
http://www.scotweb.co.uk/offers/xmarks080113
to trigger a special discount on our exclusive Essential Scotweb Casual Kilt.
The usual price is an already incredible £150. But for one week we're reducing this for you guys to an unbelievable £112.50 !!
We've never ever given a discount like this before. It's knocking a full 25% off the price of a high quality garment whose price we've already cut to the bone. Believe me, the discount is much more than our net profit, so we're doing it purely to spread the love!
And don't confuse this with the bulk-made Asian imports in inferior fabrics. It's still a classic garment, fully made-to-measure for you by our expert kiltmakers in Scotland. And it's available in a choice of dozens of tartans, in UK-woven Pure New Wool.
In fact... just to ice the cake... even if we don't have your ideal tartan listed... feel free to drop our customer service team an email and ask if it's available. We have lots of tartan on the shelves that's not publicly listed, and if we happen to have it in the right amount we'd do you the same deal.
Finally, note that our offers cannot be combined on the web site. So if you use this deal and also want to add other items with the normal discount for XMTS members, the 10% discount won't appear for the other items. But please just note this on the checkout Notes and our team will reduce the other prices for you before charging.
As I said, Happy New Year!
...
IMPORTANT NOTE
Since posting this, I've just realised that due to the way our site recognises all visitors from the XMTS site to trigger the usual 10% discount, this is over-riding the special 25% offer. :-( So to take advantage of this special one-off offer, please COPY this code: http://www.scotweb.co.uk/offers/xmarks080113 and paste it into your web browser's address field. This should then trigger it directly...
... or else just make a note in the Notes field at the checkout, and our staff will increase the discount on this item to full 25%.

Oh, I am tempted! You have a Buchanan Antique that appeals.
Given that my other kilts are heavyweight (16oz Locharron), I wonder... how well does the 11oz hold up? Do the pleats hold a pressing fairly well, or does it need re-pressed after every other wear? My only experience with lighter weight wools is a 10oz tam-o-shanter (though I'm waiting on a 10oz waistcoat due in a few weeks.)

My girlfriend has a kilted skirt in 11oz worsted wool tartan and it holds a pleat fairly well. That being said, it doesn't have the swish and swing that one comes to expect from the weight of a heavier weave, as is typically found in a man's kilt.

I expect that the lighter mass will affect the swish-factor, and I'm ok with that, for the types of activities I'd likely be doing with such a light weight kilt. I was more concerned that I'd be basting and re-pressing pleats every other time I wear it. However, your response, and my own further reflection last night, have reassured me that I wont need to worry about it.
I just pulled the trigger and ordered one, in the Buchanan Ancient tartan. It'll be a nice summertime addition to my kilt wardrobe.
Thank you, Nick, for offering such a nice deal!

Hi Jordan,
Sorry but our manager is handling these queries personally as he knows better than anyone what we have around. But we've been out of the office most of today at a big strategy meeting. Expect a reply shortly!
Best wishes (to you all)
Nick

Thanks very much Nick, I wasn't expecting a reply.
I know how much everyone likes big meetings so I have sympathy.
