First kilt done!
Yesterday was my son's pipe band concert in which my 7 year old daughter got to dance in. I had intended to wait to finish her kilt because I thought she wouldn't have any chances to perform before next June and I figured the hem, if nothing else, would need some adjustment by that time. We found out on Saturday that the pipe band asked for a "pre-show dance show" that the beginner dancers would be able to dance in. Que my daughter's big brown eyes expressing the fact that she would love to dance in her kilt. So I pressed through and finished it (almost) so she could wear it. I will admit I only basted the hem, because I am fairly certain it will need to be let down. So here are some action shots of the first kilt I made! I realized after we got home I didn't take any non -dancing shots because Grandpa took her to get a cookie and I made sure the kilt came off her first.
