    Solids, more than just utility!

We did a photo shoot today for our facebook page featuring a lot of different looks you can get with solid colour kilts. I must say that we ran out of clothes before we ran out of ideas. Have a look through the album at

Great photos. I have always appreciated solid color kilts. Sadly, I have never owned one. I was in Chisholm's of Inverness a few weeks ago and they had a superb solid tan tweed kilt there that was being mended. Very sharp.

Nice pics... I glad to see that even in Victoria that fall colours are appearing. I have one solid colour kilt in black, that I actually picked up to wear with my Saskatchewan Roughrider sweater. You guys show a totally different perspective. Not sure it is my look, but you guys do it well!

    Cheers from Calgary...Bill

The pictures were taken at Government House, they have a beautiful lawn with some great landscaping that lends itself well to photos.

When people often think of solid colours they picture ultra casual utility and we really wanted to show that a solid colour kilt can be taken to a whole different level. It is very true that solids make for great casual knock-abouts but with a little imagination and some nice accessories I'm positive you could take one all the way up to "Black Tie". Hmmm that sounds like an idea for the next photo shoot.

Nice pics, and obviously you can go up to "White Tie" with a "solid colour kilt".
I guess no one person would want to argue with the London Scottish about the formality of their Hodden Grey tartan.

Jackson my only criticism is the sporran height. I guess that will probably be argued as personal preference, but (personally) I like mine a bit lower on the FKs I wear.

And for those who don't know, 'Government House' is the residence of the viceregal representative in British Columbia, Lieutenant Governor Judith Guichon. Great venue choice.
