Cool Worked my last 2nd shift!

My prayers have been answered! Last night was the last that I'll be working from 1700 - 0130 (and later) for a long time to come (I hope)!

Monday morning I start a new role (with a pretty good pay increase) in a new building (at least new for me) at the same company I've been working. Normal hours are expected to be 0800-1630. There may be some overtime and weekends, but it's not expected to be very often.

I've been on the late shift for 2 years 8 months and 11 days. I've been trying to get into a first shift role for well over a year (put in 20 internal applications and an additional 13 applications to different companies).

Congratulations! You must be over the moon. That's far too long to be working such a late shift!!

Congratulations John, it sounds like you've made it over the "hump"! I empathize having worked both swing and graveyard in the past. Congratulations and welcome to a more normal life!

John: Congratulations! Way to persevere in a trying situation. Sounds like your determination payed off. Enjoy your new role in the company.

Congratulations John! I remember when I was working and going to school, night shift was good because I got paid a shift differential (and I needed the money) and I could take day classes. But as soon as I finished school, I got a day job and I remember how great that was. I'm happy for you.

Um as I work a 19:00 - 07:00 shift I salute you. Of course with a four on four off there are benefits as the days off are sure welcome.
